At Clínica Medicalgarve, the Pediatrics consultation is dedicated to the overall monitoring of the health and development of children and adolescents, from birth to 18 years of age, in accordance with the standards of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) and the National Child and Youth Health Program (PNSIJ).

Our Pediatrics service ensures:

• Development monitoring consultations at the ages recommended by the NHS: from the 1st week of life up to 18 years of age

• Assessment of physical growth, psychomotor development, behavior, nutrition, vaccination, sleep and child safety

• Early identification of warning signs and health problems

• Monitoring and management of acute and chronic pediatric diseases

• Referral and coordination with other pediatric specialties, when necessary

• Support and guidance for parents/caregivers at all stages of development

We follow official recommendations to:

• Recording of clinical data in the Child and Youth Health Bulletin

• Planning and strengthening the national vaccination calendar

• Application of validated assessment scales and instruments, such as the Mary Sheridan Scale (up to 12 months), WHO/DGS growth curves, and visual and auditory screenings according to age
